SOS Proteus: Protecting cave biodiversity today is a healthy society for tomorrow
The caves harbour the world's most unique biodiversity and a groundwater reservoir, the Blue Planet's most important source of drinking water.
This is the home of Proteus, a cave amphibian that is threatened with extinction due to the increasing pollution of groundwater. This blind animal can open our eyes through its global message, woven at the SOS Proteus Information Centre in a public-private partnership between the smart City of Kranj and the Tular Cave Laboratory.
