Drawing++(Zach Lieberman: Professor and artist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab))

Priceless Workshop led by MIT Media Lab Professor and the distinguished media artist Zach Lieberman, where you can enjoy multi-sensory experiences of what coding is!!!

Inspired by the fundamental principles of programming languages, this workshop invites four or more participants to sit around a table and take turns drawing on a large sheet of paper. They follow a set of predefined rules—such as only drawing straight lines that must begin from an existing line, and ensuring that no lines intersect. In the final stage, participants are encouraged to create their own rules to produce a collaborative artwork.

This process mirrors how computers generate visual art based on the code.

Zach Lieberman is an artist and researcher working with generative and interactive systems. Based in New York, he's best known for co-creating openFrameworks, an open-source C++ toolkit for creative coding, and co-founding the School for Poetic Computation. Lieberman creates installations that transform human gestures into playful digital experiences, earning recognition including the Golden Nica from Ars Electronica and features in Time Magazine's Best Inventions. He currently leads the Future Sketches research group at MIT Media Lab, continuing his exploration of code as a medium for poetic expression.
