Drawing++(Zach Lieberman: Professor and artist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab))
Priceless Workshop led by MIT Media Lab Professor and the distinguished media artist Zach Lieberman, where you can enjoy multi-sensory experiences of what coding is!!!
Inspired by the fundamental principles of programming languages, this workshop invites four or more participants to sit around a table and take turns drawing on a large sheet of paper. They follow a set of predefined rules—such as only drawing straight lines that must begin from an existing line, and ensuring that no lines intersect. In the final stage, participants are encouraged to create their own rules to produce a collaborative artwork.
This process mirrors how computers generate visual art based on the code.
Zach Lieberman is an artist and researcher working with generative and interactive systems. Based in New York, he's best known for co-creating openFrameworks, an open-source C++ toolkit for creative coding, and co-founding the School for Poetic Computation. Lieberman creates installations that transform human gestures into playful digital experiences, earning recognition including the Golden Nica from Ars Electronica and features in Time Magazine's Best Inventions. He currently leads the Future Sketches research group at MIT Media Lab, continuing his exploration of code as a medium for poetic expression.

Easy composition with the laws of the fifty sounds and note names! (STEAM Symphony Contest Winner)
We will try to compose music simply using the 'words' we often use in our daily lives. Based on the rules in the 50 sounds of Japanese, we will assign scales and turn frequently used words like names and favorite things into music. Let's joyfully present the music we've created together with everyone at the venue!

Ongoing Expo: Message to the Future(World Expo Museum)
The World Expo Museum (BIE's Sole Official Museum) partners with the Jellyfish Pavilion to celebrate the Expo's legacy of advancing global innovation! Together, we invite visitors and friends to create their “Messages to the Future" through an interactive workshop on July 30th 13:30-16:30.
We welcome participants to express visions for tomorrow through painting, coloring, and message-writing, etc., to connect a tangible bridge between the ongoing Expo and the world to come. Creations will be recorded at the World Expo Museum as cherished memories of Expo 2025 Osaka.
This collaboration embodies our mission to showcase how Expos drive scientific progress, cultural exchange, and sustainable futures. The heartfelt messages will become treasured memory pieces of the Ongoing Expo at the World Expo Museum, located in Shanghai, where Expo legacy lives on.
No artistic experience needed – just bring your imagination!
