Genesis Code (Croatia Pavilion)
On September 2, 2025, Croatian artist Martina Miholić, with sound by Senpvii, will present Genesis Code at the Jellyfish Pavilion, Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. The project is an audio-visual installation where video works unfold across diverse digital formats—from mobile phones and tablets to LCD screens and smaller projections—arranged as sculptural constellations in space and accompanied by immersive sound.
Genesis Code is a new iteration of a larger work first shown in June 2025 at the Grič Tunnel in Zagreb, Croatia. It investigates the interplay between natural creation processes and artificial intelligence, exploring how nature generates forms and algorithms that echo structures produced by AI. Miholić focuses on recurring patterns at micro and macro scales—from cellular or leaf-like shapes to mountains, volcanoes, and celestial formations. By observing these repeating forms, the project reflects on the intelligence inherent in nature and imagines new possibilities for synergy and co-creation between natural and artificial systems.
Alongside the presentation, Miholić will host two workshops (open to children and adults) on the same day:
・Morning session: 10.30–12.30
・Afternoon session: 13.30–15.30
Participants will follow a three-step process:
1) Object Photography – photographing small, everyday objects in simple, accessible conditions.
2) Digital Transformation – transforming the images into animated sequences that reveal hidden patterns.
3) Hybrid Space – projecting the resulting videos to create a new, immersive visual environment where ordinary details gain unexpected beauty.
Through this cycle—from tactile observation to digital creation—participants experience the interplay between everyday objects and imaginative exploration, discovering how even small gestures can open doors to vast, unexpected worlds of creation.

Hunt for the Future of Quantum Computers! -The Tree of the Future Society, Guided by Light- (National Institute of Technology, Yonago College)
In the year 2XXX, in a future society where the use of quantum computers is commonplace, we will exhibit an interactive art piece that harnesses the unique light properties of pink diamonds. This space, created under the theme of Light × Art × KOSEN, blends play and learning.
Visitors will search for a tree hiding NV pink diamonds — a material used in quantum computers — by shining special light onto it to uncover the “material of the future.” The method of controlling the light uses a gyro-controlled moving head, programmed and built by KOSEN students. The NV pink diamond is kindly provided by Dr. Yoshihiko Takano of the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) / Diancy Co., Ltd. Come and experience the Tree of the Future Society, guided by light!
